WHAT IS MEDIUM SPICE?

I decided to use this descriptive term so you as the reader know what to expect when you pick up a Kathryn R. Biel book. Much like the heat rankings on chicken wings or the rating system for movies, books really could use a way to quantify how much ... er, detail ... is described in a love story. My books, similar to a PG-13 movie or a medium wing, are middle of the road in terms of their heat content. What you will find: talk of sexual intimacy, descriptors of kissing and intimate touching, closed-door love scenes, open-door love scenes with minor detail, the use of cussing and curse words, alcohol use, and discussion of drug use. Think in terms of a 1990s soap opera: the couple is engaged in kissing and hands begin to wander then ... commercial break. You know they've done the deed, but for the most part, you're not seeing "the good stuff." While my books don't contain graphic or explicit love scenes, those preferring a more clean, chaste read may be uncomfortable with the content as well.

Telling stories of resilient women, USA Today Bestselling Author Kathryn R. Biel hails from Upstate New York where her most important role is being mom and wife to an incredibly understanding family who don't mind fetching coffee and living in a dusty house. In addition to being Chief Home Officer and Director of Child Development of the Biel household, she works as a school-based physical therapist. She attended Boston University and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from The Sage Colleges. After years of writing countless letters of medical necessity for wheelchairs, finding increasingly creative ways to encourage insurance companies to fund her client's needs, and writing entertaining annual Christmas letters, she decided to take a shot at writing the kind of novel that she likes to read. Kathryn is the author of nineteen women's fiction, romantic comedy, contemporary romance, and chick lit works, including the award-winning books, Live for This, Made for Me, and Underneath It All.
